KEA launches Facebook page to communicate with students

Mangalore Today News Network

Mangalore, May 28, 2012 : The Karnataka Examination Authority (KEA) has created a Facebook page, which can be accessed at www.facebook.com/keauthority, to connect with the younger generation.

A total of 901 Facebook users have already liked the page, which was launched on March 13, and 590 are making posts about it. V. Rashmi, executive director of KEA, was the first person to think about creating a Facebook page for KEA. Now, the KEA is already receiving a number of queries from students and answering them through Facebook. Students are continuously requesting CET answer keys and application forms for the PGCET.

D. S. Narasimha Murthy, PRO for KEA, said that KEA decided to launch its own Facebook page because most students use Facebook. Since email is now becoming a thing of the past, he said that Facebook is the best way to interact with students these days.

The KEA uses its Facebook page to urge CET students to read the CET 2012 brochure carefully before asking any queries and provides links to the official KEA website www.kea.kar.nic.in and other useful information. The Facebook page also has a link on candidates who have not provided their date of birth and special instructions for such candidates. The KEA also plans to shortly post updates on newly introduced online option entries and automatic seat allotment procedures.
