Independence day cultural programmes cancelled in Udupi

Udupi, August 15, 2018: On account of heavy rainfall, the cultural programmes planned for the Independence Day celebrations organised by the district administration at the Mahatma Gandhi Bayalu Ranga Mandira Grounds, Udupi  on August 15,  Wednesday have been cancelled.

The celebrations would be restricted to the hoisting of the National Flag and parade, and if possible, felicitations to students.

Minister for Kannada and Culture and Udupi district in-charge Minister Jaimala will hoist the National Flag and deliver the Independence Day speech at 9 a.m.

The programme to offer felicitations to students who scored top marks in SSLC and PU examinations would be held depending on rain, Udupi DC Priyanka Mary Francis said.
