Mangaluru, Feb 23, 2019: International Society for Krishna Consciousness (ISKCON), Mangaluru branch, will organise the 16th annual Sri Krishna Balarama Ratha Yatra festival on February 23.  The colourful Ratha Yatra procession will be taken out after the inaugural special puja at 4.30 pm.

Vidyaprasanna Theertha of Sri Subrahmanya Mutt, Kukke Subrahmanya, Bengaluru ISKCON President Madhu Pandit Dasa, MUDA Commissioner Srikanth and Rajiv Lochan Dasa of Hubballi ISKCON will be present during the inaugural programme.

ISKCON President Karunya Sagar Dasa told media persons said that the decorated and illuminated chariot, carrying the deities of Krishna and Balarama, will proceed from Sri Venkataramana Temple, Car Street and pass through Mahamaya Temple Road, Canara High School, Navabharath Circle, K S Rao Road, GHS Road, Bhavanthi Street and return to Sri Venkataramana Temple.

About 7,000 to 8,000 devotees are likely to take part in the Ratha Yatra. About 10,000 packets of Prasada will be distributed from the Ratha and 8000 Donnes of Prasada additionally will be distributed behind the Ratha.

Devotees from Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Telengana and Andhra Pradesh will also participate in the Ratha Yatra.
