Two groups had a heated argument over the issue of transporting cattle illegally on Tuesday morning; and in the evening, the groups turned violent. One of the groups comprised Bajarang Dal leaders and activists.

In the evening, a group of 100 people attacked leaders of Bajarang Dal Lokesh, Dinesh Rai, along with the president of the Kuppepadavu unit of Bajarang Dal Jagadish Kulal Pakaje (24) near Moolarapatna and also verbally abused them. They have sustained serious injuries on their head and waist. Many others were also injured.

Currently, Jagadish is taking treatment in Wenlock hospital and Dinesh and Lokesh have been admitted into a private hospital.

Jagadish, Lokesh, Dinesh, and others had gone to Kuppepadavu via Muthur from Iruvailu of Bantwal for some work. This incident took place when they were returning home after finishing their work.

Since the situation was tense, police provided protection to the travellers in the last bus from Kuppepadavu to Moolarapatna. Now, the situation has come back to normal.
