Mangalore, Nov 19: The postgraduate department of pediatric nursing in collaboration with surgical and medical oncologists of Fr Mullers Medical College Hospital is going to organize weekly talks on the subject of oncology.
The talks will be on a variety of oncology-related topics such as cancers of the head, neck, breast, gastro-intestinal tract, genital urinary tract, bone, and soft tissues; dealing with pain; palliative care; physiotherapy for oncology patients; radiotherapy; chemotherapy; lymphoma, acute lymphocyte leukaemia, and so on.
These weekly talks were inaugurated on Nov 17, Tuesday; and a seminar on “Concepts and Issues in Oncology” was organized in the conference hall of the medical college hospital. The seminar was followed by Dr Rohan Chandra Ghatty’s lecture. Prof Prema D’Souza, the head of the pediatric nursing department and the PG programme coordinator, made the welcome speech. Lecturer Zareen Taj proposed the vote of thanks.
Every Tuesday, a talk is going to organized in the conference hall of Fr Mullers Medical College Hospital from 3 p.m. – 5 p.m. The surgical and medical oncologists of the medical college hospital will be the resource persons.
