First World Konkani Cultural Convention from November 25 to December 19

Mangalore, June 15: The inaugural function of First World Konkani Cultural Convention will be conducted at St Joseph’s Indian High School Auditorium, Bangalore on Sunday June 20 at 6.00 pm said  Ronald Colaco, chairman of Konkani Cultural Organisation, in a press meet.

The convention will begin from November 25 to December 19. As a part of Silver Jubilee, ‘Mandd Sobhann’, a prominent cultural organization, is organizing this convention.

Janardhana Reddy, Karnataka State tourism minister, will be the chief guest and Dr P Dayananda Pai, chairman, Konkani Bhas ani Sanskratik Pratisttan will be the guest of honour, he said. On the occasion, cultural programmes like dances and songs will be held. A world famous dance troop from Goa will perform a dance programme. Over 60 Konkani troupes are expected to participate in 25 day cultural festival. Mandd Sobhann Founders’ Day, will be celebrated on the occasion, he added.
