Eminent Konkani scholars to meet on April 10

Mangalore, April 8: Eminent Konkani scholars, linguists, and writers of Karnataka, Goa, Kerala, and Maharashtra will meet at the World Konkani Centre, Shakti Nagar, Mangalore on April 10, 2010 to prepare a framework for research activities in cultural, socio-linguistic, and anthropological areas of Konkani language and its communities. 

Dr. Tanaji Halarnkar, Dr. Rocky Miranda, Dr. Sunithi Bai, Dr. Prakash Vazarikar, and many other Konkani scholars are expected to participate in this event. 

The Konkani Language and Cultural Foundation, which is based in Mangalore, has organized this meet. The organization also plans to award fellowships for research in Konkani language and culture with effect from the present academic year.
