Kundapur, Aug 21, 2014: As per reports, Girijamma (84), living alone from past 25 years, after her husband’s death, was found dead at her residence in Manoor, opposite Mahalingheshwar temple near Kota on Thursday August 21.

Gayatri, a neighbour of the deceased has said that she used to supply milk in the area and was well-known. Gayatri grew suspicious when Girijamma  was not seen as usual, she looked in through the window, and spotted the body.

Girijamma was ill on the previous day, and could not attend the wedding of her relative in Hassan. She had visited a neighbour’s house on the previous day around 7.30 pm.

Locals suspect it could be  murder as there was some blood near the ear region and two tiles from the roof were missing.  After the spot inspection SP Rajendra Prasad stated no signs of theft and murder are seen and it looked to be a normal death.

Dog squad and forensic experts examined the area and collected information. The body has been sent to Manipal for post mortem  and a case has been registered in Kota police station.
