Delicious dishes displayed at Spring 2010

Mangalore, Mar 21: Shri M Shekhara Poojari, the president of Mangalore Management Association and Assistant General Mangalore of M/s Aspinwall and Co. Ltd. Mangalore, inaugurated Spring 2010, a food festival organized by Srinivas College of Hotel Management. 

Mr. Raghavendra Rao, president of A Shama Rao Foundation, presided over the event. In his speech, he placed emphasis on the importance of training students in event and guest relationship management by organizing such events. 

Seventeen mouth-watering dishes and a chaat counter with Indian cuisine were displayed at Spring 2010. Cultural programmes and games added to the excitement of the event. Three hundred guests attended the event and greatly admired the butter and vegetable carvings done by the students. The guest’s feedback with regard to the food displayed was excellent. 

Shri A Shrinivas R Rao, the vice president of A Shama Rao Foundation; Mrs Vijayalakshmi R Rao, the managing director of Hotel Shrinivas; Smt D Shashikala R Rao, the secretary of A Shama Rao Foundation; and Prof Anet Florence, the principal of Shrinivas College of Hotel Management were the dignitaries on the dais. 

Mr. Sanju P Joy, a student of JHOD of F & B Service Department of Spring 2010, welcomed the gathering. Mr. Bopanna T N, a student of I BHM expressed gratitude. Mr. Nagbhushan Shenoy, JHOD of F & B Production Department of Spring 2010, introduced the theme of the event. Mr. Gaurav Bhargav of II BHM compered the event.

The food festival is an annual event that was conceived back in 1993 not only with the purpose of training students, but also to involve society in the doings of the college.
