Mangaluru, Mar 14, 2019: According to a press release from Superintendent of Police B.M. Laxmi Prasad, a social studies teacher of a school in Bantwal has been booked for corporal punishment.  The victim is the student of a school in Mogarnad in Bantwal taluk. Abdul Khader, teacher, while taking class, is said to have found a mistake in the notebook of the student.

The teacher allegedly pressed the head of the student and hit him on his neck with his hand. The student returned home in the evening with pain in his neck and legs. His uncle took him for treatment to the Government Hospital in Bantwal where the student filed a complaint.
