Car catches fire, driver escapes unhurt

Mangalore, Dec 4: An Omni with register number KA 02 B2332 caught fire near Capitanio School on Dec 3, Thursday, owing to a technical glitch in its LPG conversion unit. 

The car had just been repaired, and the driver was driving it toward Mangalore along the highway when it suddenly caught fire. Fortunately, the driver noticed the fire, stopped the car, and got out of it immediately. Within a few minutes, the car burnt down completely. The driver could not save certain important documents, which were inside the car. 

The fire fighting personnel rushed to the spot and doused the fire before it could spread. As a result of this incident, there was a traffic jam, which lasted for nearly 30 minutes.
