CID sleuths discover serial killer Mohan Kumar’s 20th victim

Mangalore, April 7: With the discovery of a fresh case of murder in which Mohan Kumar is allegedly involved, the number of the cyanide killer’s victims has shot up to 20. 


CID sleuths began investigating the Mohan Kumar case by verifying various cases of unnatural deaths of young women in South Karnataka between 2004 and 2009. The case of a young woman, who died under unnatural circumstances at the KSRTC bus stand in Bangalore on May 29, 2007, was uncovered in the process. The deceased was identified as Poornima (25) of Bekur in Kasaragod. 


Poornima’s sister, who was later contacted, confirmed her identity with the help of a photograph. 


In the meanwhile, police have requested the parents and guardians of young women who went missing in Udupi, Mangalore, Kodagu, and Kasargod districts between 2004 and 2009 to contact K P Bheemaiah, the superintendent of police, H&B Squad, CID, Bangalore. 


Mohan Kumar was arrested in October 2009 by the Dakshina Kannada police.
