BJP Minority Morcha urges all to protect the cow

Mangalore Today News Network

Mangalore, March 25: Mr. Franklin Monteiro, the district convener of the BJP Minority Morcha confirmed that the Minority Morcha of BJP condemns cow slaughter on March 25, Thursday.

Continuing his speech about the necessity of protecting the cow, he said that the cow is considered to be a sacred animal in India and is very useful to farmers; therefore, we have to protect the cow. He claimed that most Christians and Muslims are in support of the anti cow slaughter bill; but some secular forces are against it. He called this a “bad development for society.”

Criticizing Congress leaders Verappa Moily and Janardhan Poojary, he accused them strangling the dignity of the dalits and the backward communities by making their statements about eating beef. For this, he demanded an immediate apology from them.

Suggesting that politics be set aside in the interests of national integration and unity, Mr. Monteiro urged people to value beliefs held from centuries on behalf of the Morcha. He requested everybody to support the bill and warned the Congress and other political parties not to wreck social harmony.

Clifford Lobo, Pushpalatha Gatty, District Vice President of the Minority Morcha Asha Jagadish, and Sumana of the Mahila Morcha were also present during the press conference.
