Award-winning writer C Raghavan is no more


Mangalore, Feb 21: C Raghavan, the renowned writer and winner of Kendra Sahithya Academy, died at the age of 79 on Saturday morning. He had been ill for a long time and died at a private hospital at 1:30 a.m.

Mangalore, Feb 21: C Raghavan, the renowned writer and winner of Kendra Sahithya Academy, died at the age of 79 on Saturday morning. He had been ill for a long time and died at a private hospital at 1:30 a.m. 

The body was placed in the Public Library in Pulikkunnu on Saturday morning. Later, the body was shifted to the writer’s ancestral home in Uduma and was cremated in the family graveyard in the evening with state honor. 

C Raghavan, who was born in Kulathur village in 1931, completed his higher education in Mangalore, Bangalore, and Thrissur. He was a teacher in several schools and was an AEO when he retired. In the initial phases of his career, he translated Kannada and Malayalam books. The writer had held several posts such as commissioner of the Bharat Scouts and Guides and secretary of the Kasargod History Society.
