Mangalore, March 11: The third annual “Nethravathi – Phalguni” Jodukere Kambala will be organized at Pilikula on March 13 under the auspices of Dakshina Kannada and Udupi District Kambala Samithi and Pilikula Nisargadhama Society. 

J R Lobo, the executive director of the society, informed journalists at a press conference held on March 9, Tuesday, that a wide variety of competitions will be held at the event. The venue is the Bakimaru field in front of Guttu House in Pilikula Nisarghadhama’s Cultural Village. 

The Guttu House will be designed along traditional lines, he informed, adding that an exhibition of folk items will be kept inside the Guttu House. A stack of hay and various items illustrating the rich cultural heritage of the region will be displayed in the courtyard of the house. The highlights of the event will be an exhibition of photos and paintings, guided by Nikhil Shetty; an exhibition of fighting roosters; traditional village market stalls; and much more, explained Mr. Lobo. 

Dr. Vaman Nandavara, the president of the Kambala Samithi; Dr. Jeevandhar Ballal; and M G Mohan were also present during the press conference.
