Mangalore Today News Network

Mangalore, June 19: After receiving a complaint from the students of Government Model Higher Primary School at Ambla Mogaru about the poor quality food cooked and served in the school, the members of Democratic Youth federation of India (DYFI) have rushed to the school on Friday, June 19 and disallowed to use poor quality rice. They have also alleged that servants here are using dingy water to cook food.

After visiting the school, Muhammad Shareef, head of the Amla Mogaru unit of the DYFI, alleged that some worms in the water have been found, which will directly harm the health condition of the students.

A student from the same school has complained about the black insects contained rice served on Thursday afternoon. As the water used to prepare the food was unfit for human consumption and arrangements were made to get fresh water. They have got fresh water from a well on the premises of former president of the local gram panchayat Sanjiv Shetty, who is also a member of the school development and monitoring committee.

When Mangaloretoday contacted the Headmaster of the school A Shankar, said that he had not been informed of the insects in the rice.
