Allegations against me are baseless, declares KSP President Kalkura

Mangalore, April 27, 2012 : Addressing reporters at a press conference held at Pathumudu Soudha on April 27 Friday, Pradeep Kumar Kalkura, the president of the DK Zilla Kannada Sahithya Parishad (KSP), said that he has been baselessly accused in spite of the fact that he had selflessly served KSP as its president for the past 11 years.

Thanking all KSP members for supporting him, he presented a report of the activities of the KSP when he was the president. He also remarked that Sarvottam Anchan had failed to do his duties as the president of the KSP (Mangalore taluk).

Further, Mr. Kalkura said that the KSP obtained Rs. 9,60,000 from the Karnataka State KSP and had sent back an unutilized amount of Rs. 1.5 lakh.

Stating that the KSP had only 700 – 800 members when he took over as its president 11 years back, he said that the number of members is now over 4000. Denying the allegations of supporters of Sarvottam Anchan that he prefers Brahmins as members of the KSP, he said that he is not guilty of any caste discrimination while accepting members to the KSP.

Vijaya Lakshmi Shetty, Kumble Sundar Rao, R. D. Shashtri, and B. S. Hasanabba were also present.
