Mangalore, Mar 24: Air India has announced the schedule for the direct Mangalore to New Delhi flights, which will commence from March 28. The flights will be operated throughout the week, except on Saturdays. 

Chellam Prasad, the local station manager of Air India, said that 72-seater Bombardier airplanes will be flown along this route initially. This aircraft will not have a separate business class because it is lighter. Depending on customer response, larger aircraft and addition of flights might be considered. 

IC-7613 will operate on Sundays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays; and IC-7611 will operate on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. The former will leave Delhi at 5:15 a.m. and will reach Mangalore at 8:35 a.m. It will return to Delhi at 9:05 a.m. and will reach Delhi at 1:15 p.m. The latter will leave Delhi at 6:25 a.m. and will reach Mangalore at 10:55 a.m. It will fly back to Delhi at 11:25 a.m. and will reach Delhi at 2:10 p.m. The airfare is set at Rs 4,800. 

Forty-five seats have already been booked for the first flight on March 28.
