AI gives away Rs. 1.20 crore 10 families and 1 survivor

Mangalore, June 10:  Air India (AI) gave away a total compensation of Rs 1.20 crore to the families of the Mangalore plane crash of May 2 and Rs. 2.5 lakh to Pradeep, who miraculously survived the crash, during the third phase of its relief distribution programme. 


AI is giving away compensation announced by the prime minister too. AI will give away compensation to the other 22 cases on the second day of the third phase of compensation distribution on Thursday. 


A. B. George, the public relations officer of AI, said that an interim compensation of Rs 10 lakh each to the victims of the plane crash by AI and Rs 2 lakh each from the prime minister’s relief fund was given to 10 families of the deceased. Survivor Pradeep received Rs. 2 lakh compensation from the AI and Rs. 50,000 from the prime minister’s fund. 


Mr. George said that the AI already distributed a major portion of the compensation to the families of the deceased and the survivors in two phases organized earlier.
