A 2 day farm fair at CPCRI, Nov. 10, 11

Nov 07, 2018: Central Plantation Crops Research Institute (CPCRI), Kasaragod, will organise a two-day ‘Krishi mela’ at its Research Centre and International Coconut Gene Bank for South Asia at Kidu, near Kukke Subrahmanya, from November 10.

There will be an exhibition of farm implements, inputs, machinery, seed packaging techniques, value-added products and the like on both days from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. There will also be seminars, said P. Chowdappa, Director, CPCRI.

The first seminar will be on conservation of bio-diversity and crop diversity on November 10 at noon. The second on the same day at 3 p.m. would be on value addition of horticultural produces and scope for entrepreneurship in value addition.

The seminars on Nov 11, Sunday forenoon would be on soil and water conservation techniques and production of horticultural crops and their conservation techniques. The afternoon session would be on hybrid horticultural crop varieties and developing their nurseries. Entry is free.
