5 arrested while shopping with fake credit cards

Mangalore, March 23: Five youths from Goa, Mumbai, Ahmedabad, and Mangalore were arrested while attempting to purchase goods with fake credit cards on Sunday. 


Officials say that the five obtained credit card numbers of NRIs and used them to create fake cards. Mohammed Fadil of Mangalore had in his possession 7 fake credit cards when he was arrested. 


A crime branch official revealed that the gang arrived at Ahmedabad on Friday after first obtaining the credit cards from Mumbai. Each card cost them Rs 10,000. They were caught near Rajasthan Hospital trying to make purchases with the fake cards. The chief accused Fadil was once arrested in Mangalore and Bangalore too. 


The officials say that the gang used more than 15 cards when they went shopping and later sold them.
