3 officers promoted at Corporation Bank

Mangalore, Mar 4: Mr U Balakrishna Bhat, the general manager of Corporation Bank, has been promoted to the post of chief general manager of the bank. Mr. B K Diwakar has been promoted to the post of general manager; and K Ramdas Prabhu, the assistant general manager of the bank, has been promoted to the post of deputy general manager. 

Mr. Bhat, who joined Corporation Bank in 1977 as an officer, has rendered service in both the operative and administrative sections. As the general manager of the bank, he headed divisions such as Integrated Risk Management, Financial Management, Investment and International Banking, and Customer Care Service. 

Mr. Bhat is the winner of several awards as the zonal and branch manager. He won the SOGian Award for 2 consecutive years. He was also the member of the Chairman’s Club. He now deals with functions related to Board Secretariat and ALCO at the corporate office of the bank, credit policy planning, and sanctions. Mr. Bhat is not only a commerce graduate, but also a qualified chartered accountant. 

Mr. B K Diwakar joined Corporation Bank as a chartered accountant in 1996. He was promoted to the post of executive during the very next year. He has rendered service in the Inspection and Audit Division as well as the Investor Services Department at the bank’s head office before beign transfered to the bank’s MG Road branch at Bangalore. Later, he worked in the Credit Division at the bank’s head office, the Investment and International Division, and the zonal office in Mumbai. 

Mr Prabhu joined the Davanagere - Mandipet branch of Corporation Bank in 1972. He worked at the Punja Arcade, Mangalore, and Manipal branches in addition to headquarters. In 1997, he became the executive. He worked at the Investment and International Banking Division, Mumbai and the Integrated Risk Management Division at Head Office before moving to the head of Rajaji Nagar branch at Bangalore.
