2 Muslim groups fight in mosque, 2 injured

Mangalore, Dec. 7: Jamaat-e-Islam-e-Hind activists had a clash with the members of the Sunni Muslim community in a mosque in Bardila, Kuppepadav, on Dec 6, Sunday. As a result of this, 2 persons sustained severe injuries. 

The injured are B C Mohammed and Fakruddin, who are both Sunnis. One of them has sustained serious head injuries and the other has a fractured leg. Both are receiving treatment in a private hospital. 

The victims have lodged a complaint at Bajpe Police Station against Jamaat-e-Islam-e-Hind activists Ummer Farooq, Shekhabba, Imtiaz, Shariff, Jakriabba, and their leader Sulaiman. According to the complaint, the SIO unit of Jamaat-e-Islam-e-Hind attacked the victims. 

Reportedly, the clash has something to do with the call for namaz as well as certain long-term rivalry between the 2 groups.
