Mangaluru, Oct 23, 2019 : Sridevi Nritya Kendra will organise a two-day ‘Nrityotsava 2019’ at Town Hall on October 24 and 25.
Kendra Director Pradeep Kumar Kalkura told reporters at Patrika Bhavan on October 22, Tuesday that on account of Nrityotsava, a national-level dance competition, Prathibha Pradarshana, will be organised at the Town Hall on October 24. As many as 26 competitors will take part in the contest. The winners of the competition will be awarded ‘Yuvakala Prashasthi’ during the valedictory of the ‘Nrityotsava’.
Kendra Director Dr Araty H Shetty said that in memory of Kendra founder guru Late Jayalakshmi Alva, ‘Jaya Kala Prashasthi’ will be conferred on Prof Ahish Mohan Khokar for his contribution and yeomen services in preserving and propagating rich Indian art form as a critic, author and curator of Mohan Khokar Dance Archives of India.
An ‘arangetram’ of Amruthavalli V V, daughter of Uma Vasudevan and V K Vasudevan, will be held on the occasion. The valedictory of Nrityotsava will be attended by Mangalore University Vice Chancellor Prof P S Yadapadithaya, Kateel Sri Lakshmi Narayana Asranna and Minal Prabhu, Director of Mudrika Foundation for Indian Performing Arts.
