‘Govt says, no role in Shiroor Mutt case’

Mangaluru, Aug 11, 2018: Home and Deputy Chief Minister G Parameshwara said that the state government will not interfere in the police’s decision in the Shiroor Mutt case.

Addressing media here, the minister said, “Investigation into the suspicious death of the Shiroor Mutt seer Lakshmivara Theertha Swami is still going on. The police will decide on whether the Aradhane rituals and the final rituals will be conducted in the mutt. The state government will not interfere in the decisions taken by the police.”

When asked about the investigation on senior journalist Gauri Lankesh’s murder case, he said that the investigation has reached its final stage and the police will share details after the investigation is completed.
