‘Beyond the spoken word’ art exhibition at Orchid Art Gallery

Mangalore, Mar 18: ‘Beyond the spoken word’ an exhibition of artworks by Ashish Kamath will be held at the Orchid Art Gallery, Balmatta on March 20, Saturday at 5.30 pm.

The exhibition will display around 25 artworks on display, out of which 15 works acrylic painting and 10 works of chart work on paper, said William Pais, owner of Orchid Art Gallery, speaking at the press meet held at Press Club on March 18, Thursday.

He also said that IGP Gopal Hosur will inaugurate exhibition and Vishnu Shevgoor of L K Shevgoor School of Art will be the guest of honour. The exhibition will be open for viewing from March 21 to March 30 from 10 am to 5 pm.

The artistic text used by Ashish Kamath, in the series of works, takes a stronger borrowing from the culture. Kamath’s who lacks spoken words, safely assume a stronger influence of Indian Folk figures in his body work, he said.

Ashish Kamath, artist, his wife Sandhya Kamath and father Vinayak Kamath were present.
