State Energy Minister inaugurates KV centres in Mangalore

Mangalore, Jan 26: In her inaugural speech on the occasion of the formal launching of the 33/11 KV electricity sub centres in Nandigudda and Kudroli at Hotel Woodlands on Jan 26, Wednesday, State Energy Minister Shobha Karadlaje said that providing high quality power to Mangalore is the chief aim of the BJP government. This is the first new KV centre in Mangalore after 1996, she added.

Further speaking about the energy achievements of the current state government, she said that the government has established two 5 MVA transformers, one of which has started functioning at Nandigudda and that other will established in Attavar in 2 months. Various technical issues are preventing the establishment of energy centres these days, she said, adding that load shedding has necessitated the establishment of these KV stations. The chief minister has launched four brand new energy centres after coming to power, she added.

Regarding her visit to Raichur, she said that they had discussed the issue with farmers and others concerned parties and had taken various suggestions from them so that they can find a solution to the problem on the basis of their suggestions. Expressing satisfaction that KV stations are in the process of being constructed in Jeppu and Bejai, she said that the latest technology will be implemented to install KV stations from single poles.

N. Yogesh Bhat, the deputy speaker; District-in-charge Minister Krishna J. Palemar; N. Nagaraj Shetty, the chairman of the Coastal Development Authority; Mayor Rajani Dugganna; Deputy Mayor Rajendra Kumar, MLA UT Khader, MLC Capt Ganesh Karnik; and others were present.
