Udupi, Oct 27, 2016 : Acting on a tip off Railway Security police have arrested a youth from Maharashtra who was transporting unaccounted cash of Rs 23.22 lakhs by concealing it inside his banian.
The accused has been identified as Rohith Prakash Kadam (21) of Sangli. He was arrested at Bhatkal while he was travelling in the Mangala Express operating on the Karwar to Kallikote route.
On examination of the accused, it was found that he had got stitched several pockets in his banian so that he could conceal the currency notes.
It has been suspected that it was the cash pertaining to some gold business done by evading tax to the government.
