Youth Congress stages protest; demands withdrawal of Land Ordinance

Mangaluru, Feb 3, 2015: The New Land Ordinance of the BJP led NDA government was deplored during a protest organised by the District Youth Congress in front of the DC office on February 3, Tuesday.

Speaking on the occasion, District Youth Congress President Mithun Rai demanded that the Union Government withdrew the Land Ordinance and warned that the Youth Congress would further intensify its protest in the days to come if the demand remained unfulfilled. He also stated that the Youth Congress earlier dropped the plans of protesting in front of the local MP’s house as he stayed in an apartment complex and any protest would inconvenience other occupants.

Abdul Azeez, General Secretary of District Youth Congress, who also addressed the protestors, said the Land Ordinance would only help the entrepreneurs as it would ease their way in acquiring farm lands. Several Youth Congress workers participated in the protest.
