Young woman ends life by jumping into well with kid; husband detained

Mangalore, July 04, 2014:  It is reported Shruthi aged about 24 yrs jumped into a well with her son Prathik 2 yrs at Pachanady. The police are holding Shruthi’s husband Ramesh Acharya in custody. Ramesh, is a goldsmith from Veeranagar.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Some years ago Ramesh and Shruthi lived in Puttur, and she used to come to Mangalore to do a beautician course. An elderly couple made friends  with Shruthi when she used to travel from Puttur to the city.  The elderly couple arrived at Wenlock hospital on hearing the news of her death.

They are reported to have told those present and media,  that Shruthi always lamented that  her married life was unhappy and she faced a lot of harassment. They said that she had a lot of gold ornaments but they were allegedly taken away. The young couple was recently living in Shruthi’s mother’s house in Santoshnagar, Pachanady.  Ramesh Acharya’s  father is said to have stated that he could not find any fault with Shruthi. Bodies of the dead were shifted to Wenlock hospital.

Kankanady rural police registered a case and investigations are underway.
