Mangaluru, Jan 29, 2019: Acting vice chancellor of the Mangalore University, Prof Ishwara P, lauded the efforts taken by universities to work in collaboration with each other to spread the knowledge of Yoga. “Yoga and Yoga therapy are both recognised worldwide,” he reminded.
Speaking at the international workshop on Yoga therapy organised on January 28 Monday by the Department of Human Consciousness and Yogic Sciences and the Dharmanidhi Yogapeetha of Mangalore University in association with the Wonkwang Digital University (WDU), South Korea.
Prof Jong Soon Sue, Provost, WDU, elaborated the study of Yoga at the WDU and expressed happiness about the collaboration with Mangalore University.
M Jayaprakash, Dr M Nandini and M Jagadish from Mangaluru were honoured in recognition of their donation of valuable books on Yoga to the library of the Dharmanidhi Yogapeetha in memory
of their father late M Janardana.
The workshop will be held for three days, till January 30. Around 150 delegates – including 33 delegates from WDU; and Indian delegates from the Central University, Kerala; and KMC, Manipal – will attend the workshop.
The workshop will have three practical sessions of Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga and two sessions of workshop on basics of Yoga practice and Yoga therapy for conditions like hypertension, sinusitis, back ache, obesity, digestive disorders, respiratory disorders, frozen shoulder, cardiovascular disorders, sleep disorders and headache and so on, this will benefit participants.
