Mangalore, Mar 16, 2014: Veteran social and consumer activist Ravindranath Shanbagh has said that the cost of Yettinahole Project which was Rs 8,323 crores in the beginning has risen to over Rs 12000 crores in 2014. By the time the project is completed, the cost may escalate and people may then prefer Bisleri water which may be cheaper.
He was speaking at a programme on the pros and cons of Yettinahole Project organised by the Post Graduate Department of Roshni Nilaya on March 15, Saturday.
Shanbagh said the government which has refrained from studying the impact of the project and also conducting a public hearing in fact intends at diverting the Netravathi water to Hesaraghatta, Manchanabele, and Tippagondanahalli reservoirs.
