Bantwal, Mar 22, 2017 : Sahyadri Sanchaya activists and students of Swaroopa Adyayana Kendra on Tuesday sent by courier to Chief Minister Siddaramiah a pot as a mark of protest against diversion of water from Yettinahole which they said would dry up the Netravati river.
Staging a protest near the office of the Deputy Commissioner, activist Dinesh Holla said Yettinahole and a host of mini- hydel power projects are coming up in the Western Ghats that are drying up the natural streams in the region.
“We do not know from where the CM will divert water to meet our water requirements,” he said.
