Belthangady, dec 3, 2016 : The Principal Bench of the National Green Tribunal which took up for hearing the petition filed by environmentalist KN Somashekhar stating that the Karnataka Neeravari Nigam was unauthorisedly constructing a water storage facility at Dodda Sagara in Hemavathy flood plain in Sakleshpur taluk, has directed the State Government to respond to the petition.
The petitioner had questioned the state government’s decision which reportedly aims at storing Yettinahole water so that it could be pumped to other places.
The Karnataka Government has been asked to file its reponse within ten days.
The next hearing has been posted to December 16.
