Yettinahole: Final hearing in Main Bench of Green Tribunal today

Belthangady, Sep 21, 2016: The final hearing into the case seeking shelving of the  Yettinahole Project which was  shifted from the Chennai Bench of the Green Tribunal to the main bench at Delhi will come up for hearing before the Main Bench of the Green Tribunal in Delhi on September 21, Wednesday. The case was earlier shifted from the Chennai Bench of the Tribunal to the Main Bench.

The petitions filed by Purushottam Chitrapur, former deputy mayor of Mangaluru, HA Kishore of Hassan, KN Somashekhar of Mysuru and Yatiraju of Tumakuru is being heard by the Green  Bench.

The Green Tribunal in its interim judgement on August 29 had   directed the Karnataka Irrigation Corporation against felling the trees.  Recently, one of the petitioners who had  visited the Yettinahole site had  gathered information that trees were being felled  illegally in violation of the  Green Tribunal ruling.

We are losing trust on law because it is the Cauvery judgement has put the people in trouble in the same way , so what about Yettinahole?

Though it has the adverse effect to the people of DK, the work is in progress. We hope for the best and to the people of DK , but when we the cauvery water judgment its good to be neutral
