Yeddyurappa lacks stature of Poojary and Moily: MLA U T Khader

Mangalore, May 24: Speaking in response to CM B. S. Yeddyruappa’s remarks against Congress leaders M. Veerappa Moily, the union minister for law, and B. Janardhan Poojary, MLA U. T. Khader said that the CM has no stature to question the contributions of these Congress leaders to the state.

Reportedly, CM B. S. Yeddyurappa had remarked at a public meeting held at Nehru Maidan on Sunday that Poojary and Moily should stop making comments about the development work in Bangalore and Mysore, but should see the progress made in DK and Udupi.

Speaking to reporters on Monday, Khader said that when Poojary was the union minister of state for finance and when Moily was the chief minister of the state, they had made revolutionary changes in education and banking. Poojary was responsible for bringing banking to every home and for bringing huge companies such as Mangalore Refinery and Petrochemicals Limited to Mangalore. He said that Moily was responsible for the introduction of Common Entrance Test for admission to professional courses.

When a journalist wanted to know if the activities of Moily and Poojary have slowed down the growth of the Congress party, he said that the two have an unblemished image in society, unlike Yeddyurappa who is steeped in corruption.

Further stating that Yeddyurappa is yet to keep his promises, he said that the BJP-led state government has only laid concrete roads, but is yet to keep its promise of constructing Skybus, Monorail, and Mangala Corniche.
