Yeddyurappa calls to unite against evil forces

Mangalore Today News Network

Mangaluru, Sep 07, 2016: State BJP President B S Yeddyurappa said communal forces have been trying to disrupt peace and harmony in the district by speaking ill of Hindu places of worship through social media.  All people should be united against such forces, he told media, after visiting Sri Kateel Durgaparameshwari Temple.

Yeddyurappa Yeddyurappa said 21 youths from Kasargod went missing after coming in contact with IS and expressed apprehension about IS spreading its activities in Mangaluru. Nobody should can occupy the law in their hand, he said.  He added he would urge the state government to initiate legal action against suspects who had posted derogatory remarks against the Kateel temple deity, hurting the Hindu sentiments. The Union home minister would also be appraised of the incident, he stated.

Yeddyurappa said the Supreme Court’s direction release Cauvery river water to Tamil Nadu has come as a shock to the state’s farmers. With deficit rainfall, the inflow of water to KRS reservoir has reduced drastically. The dams in Karnataka are not full. A drought-like situation is prevailing in the state, he added.

He said the government should convene an emergency session and file an appeal in the Supreme Court against the direction.
