Women’s organisation to protest against Tulu movie "Appe Teacher" on June 2

Mangaluru, May 31, 2018:  Women’s organisations in  the city are up in arms against the Tulu movie ’Appe Teacher’ which is currently running in theatres.

Chanchala Tejomaya, a leader of the Mangaluru Taluk Federation of Women’s Organisation (Mangaluru Taluk Mahila Mandaligala Okkoota)  has said that the  organisation  will be staging a protest in Mangaluru on June 3  against what she termed as the insult meted out to women in the movie.

Speaking to reporters here she alleged that some issues presented in the movie encouraged sexual exploitation of women.  She said a complaint has been lodged with the Censor Board and the Deputy Commissioner.

Writers Chandrakala Nandavar, KA Rohini, Women’s organisation leaders Suman Sharan, Shashilekha were present at the press meet.
