Mangalore, Apr 29, 2014: The government has erred by announcing compensation to the family of Kabeer who was killed in ANF firing at Shringeri even before the probe into the case was complete, said VHP leader Jagadish Shenava.
He was speaking at a protest meet organised by the VHP and Bhajrangdal in front of the DC office here on April 29, Tuesday demanding withdrawal of compensation to Kabeer family and also to withdraw the murder case registered against ANF cop Naveen Naik arrested in the case.
Shenava was also highly critical of the Cognress leader sfor trying to argue tjat Kabeer was innocent.
The government has done nothing but demoralised the ANF by registering a murder case against the ANF cop who fired at Kabeer after mistaking him for a NAxalite, Shenava said.
Ex-serviceman Narayan Kamath also spoke. Satyajith Suratkal of Hindu Jagarana Vedike, Sharan Pumpwell, Bhajrangdal leader and others participated in the protest.
