Well-to-do family dumps mentally challenged girl at Beltangady

Beltangady, June 28, 2014: A 20 something girl calling her self ’Shaila’ was found near Ujire bus stand during the night of June 25-26,  sympathetic people on inquiry found out that her own family members had dumped her in the town.

Shaila, is probably from Chikmagalur. It is reported that her own folks brought her here to admit in an ashram but may have failed to do so. It is suspected Shaila hails from a wealthy family who find her inconvenient. Beltangady sub-inspector Prakash contacted activist Jyothi, and helped Shaila get admitted in Seon Ashram. The police are said to have got her address and are investigating further.

Thanks to locals,  Ravi Chakkitalaya, Gracian Veigas and Ujire gram panchayat president Balakrishna Gowda provided her shelter and security till she was admitted to Seon Ashram.
