Vittal : Miscreants target 2 petty shops; set them afire

Bantwal, Mar 11, 2014 :  Though Kalladka is under strict police vigil following the recent clashes, two petty shops at Soorikumeru in Vittal police station limits have been destroyed in an act of miscreants on March 9, Sunday night. If one of the shops, a provision store belonged to Abdul Azeez, another  fruit shop owned by Haneef was also destroyed in the fire.

It is learnt, Abdul Azeez who sleeps inside the shop first noticed the fire at around 1 am  and  rushed out.  Later the fire service personnel were informed and locals and fire service men put out the fire.The loss due to the fire has been estimated at Rs 70,000 as all goods inside the shop are gutted. Azeez who is in a state of shock has been hospitalised.

The extent of loss in another fruit shop is not known. Vittal police are investigating. It is suspected that the act of miscreants in setting afire the two shops is a continued part of Kalladka clashes.
