Mangaluru, Nov 1, 2016 : The Second Additional District and Sessions Court has granted conditional bail to Srikanth, the second accused in the sensational RTI activist Vinayak Baliga murder case. Srikanth is said to be a close associate of Naresh Shenoy, the prime accused in the case who is currently out on bail granted by the High Court.
Srikanth who was arrested in June for being a part of the conspiracy hatched to eliminate Baliga, had applied for bail on July 25. Magistrate D Sarvodaya Shettigar has granted him bail subject to furnishing of a bond for Rs one lakh apart from personal surety. He has also been directed not to influence witnesses, not to destroy evidences, to appear before the court without fail and also at the Barke Police station on particular days.
The advocate for Srikanth had argued that the charge sheet filed by the police had mentioned that Srikanth was only involved in hatching the conspiracy. The court accepted this argument and granted bail to Srikanth.
