Verbal Fight for Rs. 100 Leads to Murder

A verbal fight led to murder when a man hacked his older brother to death in Moodayaikad, Beluvai, on Saturday night.
The deceased has been identified as Cyril Saldanha (60). His younger brother, Felix Saldanha (52), allegedly murdered him. Both are from Beluvai; and both are employed at Damaskatte, Kinnigoli. The brothers quarreled over Rs 100 on Saturday evening. In the heat of the quarrel, the younger brother attacked the older brother and killed him.
The event terrified their brother Maxim Saldanha, who fled from the scene and hid himself. The next day, he informed the other villages and filed a complaint at Moodubidri Police Station.
Felix Saldanha has been arrested; and the case is under investigation.
