Vande Bharat Express from Mangaluru gets rousing welcome at Madgaon railway station in Goa

Madgaon, Dec 31, 2023: The Mangaluru–Madgaon Vande Bharat Express which was flagged-off by Prime Minister Narendra Modi through virtual mode Saturday morning reached Madgaon railway station in the evening covering the distance in four-and-a-half hours.

Rajya Sabha MP Sadanand Shet Tanavade welcomed the train at Margao in the presence of Margao MLA Digambar Kamat, Navelim MLA Ulhas Tuenkar, BJP state general Secretary Damodar Naik and others.

“Commissioning of Vande Bharat Express between Mangaluru and Margao heralds a new chapter in connectivity between both the states – Karnataka and Goa,” said Tanavade while welcoming the train during its inaugural run.

He said that the Vande Bharat train will help boost the tourism sector between the two states. He said that the Narendra Modi-led government has laid emphasis on identifying the requirements of the common man and working towards fulfilling them.A number of school students were among the passengers who arrived from Mangaluru to Goa by the Vande Bharat Express.

The train will depart from Mangaluru Central at 8.30am and reach Margao at 1.15pm, making stops at Udupi and Karwar enroute. On its return journey, the train will depart from Margao at 6.10pm and arrive at Mangaluru Central at 10.45pm. The Vande Bharat Express will operate on all days of the week, except Thursday.
