Mangaluru, Nov 04, 2017: City Police Commissioner T R Suresh has assured action against two-wheeler riders found speaking over mobile phones while riding.
The Commissioner said so reacting to a query raised by a woman during his phone-in programme on November 3. The woman had referred to a recent incident wherein a two-wheeler rider who was speaking over mobile phone, had knocked down a child severely injuring it.
The Commissioner also had to hear several complaints of not adhering to helmet rule and driving without license. He said Public Address System will be installed at Panambur Junction and that the NMPT has agreed to sponsor the same.
A total of 28 callers spoke to the Commissioner during the phone-in-programme which is 28nd in the line. DCPs Hanumantharaya, Uma Prashanth, ACP (Traffic and Crime) Manjunath Shetty and ACP Valentine D’Souza were also present.
