Uppinangady, Nov 14, 2016 : As many as seven persons including three children sustained serious injuries when a Maruti Omni vehicle rammed against a tree at Nejikaru in Ilanthila village on the Guruvayanakere-Uppinangady road on November 13, Sunday. It is said the mishap took place when the driver lost control over the vehicle.
The injured are Aboobakker (53), owner and driver of the Maruti Omni, Beepathuma (46) his wife, their children Irshad (18), Ashika (15), grandchildren Mufida (3), Muzhameer (2) and Muhifa(4).
All of them were on way to their home at Alake in Tannirupantha after attending a function at Puttur when the mishap took place near a curve. The front portion of the vehicle was badly mangled due to the impact of the collision.
Locals assisted in rescue operations and in shifting the injured to the hospital. Puttur Traffic Police have registered a case.
