Sullia, June 1, 2014: Emotions ran high as  the new Union Minister for Railways DV Sadananda Gowda arrived  at Devaragunda in Mandekolu village of Sullia taluk on May 31, Saturday to seek the blessings of his 91 year old mother.

Gowda who is on a maiden visit to the district after taking charge as Union Minister, touched his mother’s feet and sought her blessings. The minister’s wife Datty, son Karthik, siblings, Bhasker, Suresh, Shivaram and others were present. The family members later offered prayers at the ‘Taravadu’ shrine of the family.

Earlier, on his arrival at Jalsur, the Union Minister was accorded a warm welcome by BJP workers, friends and well wishers who had gathered in large numbers.

Capt Ganesh Karnik, MLC, Nanya Achyuta Moodittaya, Trustee of Puttur Mahalingeshwara Temple and others were present.
