Mangaluru, Apr 27, 2018: ‘Raaja Nota,’ a book with information about contestants for the Assembly and Parliamentary elections from the undivided Dakshina Kannada district from 1952 to 2014, as authored by journalist P B Harish Rai, was released at the Press Club here.
Alva’s Education Foundation Chairperson Dr M Mohan Alva said that the political history may not be important to politicians but documentation is essential for the current generation. Praising the author for having done a not-so-easy task in a beautiful way, he lauded Rai’s efforts for not including personal opinions.SCDCC Bank chairperson M N Rajendra Kumar hoped that the political history of the region would be like an encyclopaedia for the next generation.
The book, published by Akriti Akshaya Publications, aims to be a political guide for those who are keen on local political history.The book contains
photographs and information about MLAs and MPs of the region right from the year 1952 till date.
Patrika Bhavan Trust president K Anand Shetty said that the textbook will be useful for those keen on politics, while journalist Manohar Prasad
encouraged the use of the book as a non-detail textbook because of the kind of history it contains.Publisher Kallur Nagesh and author P B Harish Rai were present at the book release function.
