Mangalore, Feb 10 , 2014: Ullal in the outskirts of the city which witnessed acts of vandalism and violence last week, has returned to normalcy with no untoward incident reported from any where on February 9, Sunday.

However, police officials have not yet taken any decision on lifting the prohibitory orders under Section 144 clamped in the area.

Though shops and business establishments were open as usual on Sunday, most of them downed shutters early in the evening. Police sources said two main accused in the cases of violence, have been arrested.

Earlier on Saturday night, miscreants had hurled stones at the car of BJP leader Chandrashekhar Uchila. In retaliation, even the car of Saleem Ullal, the Vice President of the District Congress Minorities wing was stoned.

Police have arrested one person in this connection.  It is learnt two more cars were targeted the same night but no damage was caused.
