Udupi, June 17, 2016: Pejawar Mutt seer sri Vishwesha Theertha Swami said that the chariot carrying the message and documentary films on saint late Dr Sri Shivaratri Rajendra Mahaswami of Sutthuru Mutt will arrive in Udupi today June 17 as part of the birth centenary celebrations of the seer.
Pejawar Mutt seer also stated the chariot will be given a rousing welcome in the temple town and programmes will be held in Rajangana. He said the seer, who was known for his charity works and promotion of education by offering free facilities to the students, is a great humanitarian who introduced modern thoughts to the society.
The chariot will be accompanied by 15 volunteers. The documentary which will be screened will reflect on the seer’s life who breathed his last in 1986. The seer has played a major role in many of the students reaching greater heights, he said. The chariot will later proceed to Mangaluru and Kasargod, it will reach Udhagamandalam in Tamil Nadu. The valedictory of the birth centenary celebrations will be held August end, the seer said.
There are disciples of the seer in Tamil Nadu, Uttar Pradesh, New Delhi, Mauritius, Dubai and United States. There are nearly 350 institutions introduced by Sutthuru Mutt for the purposes of farming, religious, social, cultural, employment and education, the seer said.
